After having her own child, Susan Petersen found herself growing increasingly frustrated at the lack of baby shoes out there, especially ones that would stay on her child’s feet. By the time her second child came around, Petersen decided to take matters into her own hands, literally. Using scrap leather, Petersen played around making shoes for her son. After trial, error and creative money-making methods (Peterson sold aluminum window frames to a scrap yard for money), Petersen was able to develop the first edition of Freshly Picked Moccasins. After undergoing a few changes along the way (along with some major growth), Freshly Picked moccasins have a cult-like following and have become the go-to for baby shoes. Whether you fancy metallics or a more subtle color like “cashmere”, you’re bound to find a pair of moccasins that fit your little one’s personality perfectly!
