Most children struggle with what they want to “do when they grow up” for most of their lives. For Kristen Ley of Thimblepress though, the choice was always obvious: to be an artist. From craft projects at home to her two grandmothers (both craft gurus in their own right), art was ingrained in Ley. Starting her own business with a friend after graduating college in 2011, Ley jumped into the professional world of graphic design + art headfirst. Later in 2011 though, Ley acquired a 925 10x15 Chandler + Price. Everything changed after that. With just one other person onboard with her for this press endeavor, Ley started Thimblepress. The name derives from Ley’s ever growing collection of thimbles and through Thimblepress, Ley has created the space to be a letterpress studio, sewing studio, art studio, woodworking studio — basically anything + everything that fosters artistic flow. We adore the sweet + clean nature of Thimblepress products and we can’t wait for you to adore them too!
